One of the most important questions you can answer is: "What can you do for Auto Meter over and above putting decals on the race vehicle?" Please use creativity in answering this question. Remember that we are in the business to sell the products that we manufacture. If accepted for sponsorship, you would be one of the many tools we have for selling more products. Professionalism, personal appearance, personal demeanor and honesty are very important to Auto Meter's corporate image. Auto Meter posts contingency with numerous sanctioning bodies. If accepted, you will be eligible for the posted contingency awards, provided that you follow Auto Meter's contingency rules and the sanctioning bodies' rules. If you do not belong to a sanctioning body, your chances of sponsorship are greatly diminished. Please pay attention to the dates for mailing your sponsorship proposal. It will not be considered if they are early or late.
Sponsorship Guidelines
Sponsorships are for 1 year ONLY. A proposal must be sent prior to each season for you to be considered for sponsorship.
No monetary sponsorships are in the budget. Auto Meter's product assistance will be a tremendous asset to your racing program. This can occur in three forms:
1) Complete product sponsorship at no charge
2) Factory direct discount
3) Combination of both of the above
Acceptance of your proposal is by no means is a promise of sponsorship. Proposals are accepted for the following season beginning October 1st each year through March 1st.
All requests will be answered by the end of March. Below are a few tips on composing and sending your proposal. It is very important for you to be clear, concise and professional while keeping it interesting to read. Typed proposals are preferred, but not a necessity.
1) Who are you? (name, shipping address, daytime phone number and e-mail address)
2) Where have you been? (a brief racing autobiography)
3) Where are you now? (be specific)
4) Where are you going? (be specific)
5) What do you specifically need from Auto Meter? (use Auto Meter model numbers)
6) Are you willing to absorb partial cost of the products you are requesting?
7) What will you do for Auto Meter over and above putting decals on the race vehicle?
8) Do you plan on building one or more vehicles? If so, how many?
- Please include photos of the race vehicle and the race team.
- Please do not write a novel. Keep it brief and to the point.
Demographics are not necessary, so please do not include them.
